March Newsletter 2017 – What We’ve Been Up To

Mar 22, 2017 | News

Welcome to our March newsletter! It’s been a very busy two months for us. Let’s get stuck in to some projects & news!

Bespoke Projects

iPad Kiosk

Our brand new iPad Kiosk (along with bespoke software & a Button Feedback Counter) has found a home with Headway Cambridgeshire. Headway works with sufferers of brain injures and recently held the event “Making Headway” to highlight their stories.

Utilising our own software we programmed the iPad to play a series of personal videos where clients of Headway discuss their experience with brain injury – whilst the Feedback Counter tallied votes from visitors to the event. You can find out more about our new iPad kiosk below!

Mobile Advertising

Digital Advertising and Marketing have been turned bright green thanks to the Daam.TV van. This van has been specially augmented to display video adverts while out and about on the road, getting as many eyes watching and as many businesses seen as possible.

We supplied many specialist products including the Video Clip HD6 to display advertisements on three HD High Brightness screens surrounding the van. Praised for its innovative approach to digital advertising the Van has been a huge success.

Smaller Projects

Video Clip HD8 – Beckford Silk

Another Video Clip HD8 has found a new home with textile printers Beckford Silk. The family-run business has been running since 1975 and has many loyal customers all over the world, including customers who operate within the museum and heritage sector.

The HD8 was used to play a video tour of the shop premises for visitors, and was built into a black box supplied by the clients themselves. The HD8 has proven to be a cost-effective solution to display visual content in a retail setting, allowing visitors an insight into the world of textile printing.

22″ All-in-One Touchscreen

Thackray Medical Museum is dedicated to the story of medicine and health, through their nine interactive galleries. They have recently added to the museum with the ‘Birth Stories’ project, an online exhibition that focuses around stories of childbirth.

Our 22″ All-in-One Touchscreen was supplied to display the museum’s exhibition on Yarn, a community storytelling application made by the University of Leeds. The touchscreen has provided a simple and intuitive platform for users to browse the online exhibition.

SoundClip-2 – Experimentarium, Copenhagen

After moving to a brand new buliding, the Experimentarium Science Centre in Copenhagen needed some audio interpretation for their water area “The Beach.” Area designers Science Projects contacted us to supply three of our SoundClip-2 audio players.

Along with a Large PIR sensor, the units featured in many different areas of the gallery including inside a giant ship that was built by the Science Projects team. Our SoundClip-2 has allowed the team to create an immersive audio environment with great results.

Open Frame Video Screens

Located in the West Midlands, Wightwick Manor & Gardens are home to a large collection of Pre-Raphaelite artwork. The manor was the home of the Mander family for many generations and is now in the care of the National Trust.

15″ and 22″ Open Frame Video Screen have been used to share looping videos about the Manor and its history. Installed into picture frames the screens have been given a quirky touch and now merge perfectly with their location.

New Product

Free Standing iPad Kiosk & Enclosure

As mentioned above, we’ve released a brand new product on our online shop – the Free-Standing iPad Kiosk & Enclosure. This enclosure is specifically designed for the iPad 2,3,4 and Air and when combined with kiosk software can take it from a simple tablet to a state of the art browsing kiosk (iPad and software not included). The stand and enclosure securely lock the iPad in place ensuring tamper proofing thanks to a solid black powder coated steel construction.
