Message in a Speaker – National Aquarium of New Zealand
We are very happy with our Message In A Speaker…. As visitors are not expecting an audio special-effect, it is quite a surprise – and a funny one too.

The National Aquarium of New Zealand has an amazing area where a nocturnal space has been developed to house rare Brown Kiwis, native only to New Zealand. Here they reverse day/night time making the enclosure dark during opening hours allowing visitors to see the Brown Kiwis going about their nocturnal business.
As part of a seasonal event called ‘holiday lights’, the Aquarium utilise illuminated kiwis on the visitor path leading to the main exhibit. They wanted to include some surprise audio along this path, activated as visitors walk by – to accomplish this they opted for our Message in a Speaker which offers an all-in-one speaker with PIR sensor solution.
As visitors make their way down the path, the MIAS is activated and plays a magical soundbite featuring Santa. “As visitors are not expecting an audio special-effect, it is quite a surprise – and a funny one too.“
Once the event is over, the MIAS can be easily re-programmed and used elsewhere at the aquarium, or just saved for next year!
