Oversized U-Turn Round – Cold Heart Fairytale Trail
These unique interactive stations not only provide visitors with access to audio but also include instructions on how to operate the U-Turn, a range of information about The Cold Heart, the local culture, nature, and history of the Black Forest.

Based on Wilhelm Hauff’s story of the same name, The Cold Heart Fairytale Trail is a 3.2km circular trail located on the Sommerberg mountain in Bad Wildbad, Germany. Along this wonderful trail you’ll find 10 interactive stations designed by Impuls Design.

A majority of the stations along the Fairytale Trail utilise our oversized U-Turn Rounds, providing access to audio without the need for mains power. Visitors simply select a track via the dial and turn the handle to generate enough power to activate various audio clips, including the story of Peter Munk’s struggle for happiness, and words from the Glass Man and Dutchman Michel.

The Oversized U-Turns are designed to be easily fit into bespoke builds exactly as Impulse Designs have created here.
