Both an educational charity and a leading science centre, We The Curious in Bristol produces experiences that bring people together to play, get creative with science and explore different ideas. This is through galleries, annual and limited time events and even via their fully fledged Planetarium!
As part of its 25th birthday celebrations, We The Curious invited the people of Bristol to share their memories, photos, videos and stories, helping to shape the temporary exhibition ‘Curious Timeline’. Designed by Stand + Stare, the timeline includes a range of interactive elements, such as flaps to lift and explore, holes to stick your head through for photos, and audio memories to listen to.
The audio element is where we come in – one of the silly faces on display uses a push button for its nose, which triggers the Soundclip-V2 audio unit to play audio through the characters mouth (a through panel speaker).
This simple setup is incredibly effective thanks to the amusing installation – it’s also easily changed if required via the solid state audio device (Soundclip-v2) which can be reprogrammed easily using an SD card or USB.
