Solar Audio Posts – George Takei Dedication

Apr 19, 2013 | News

A new museum in Arkansas has been opened in a dedication ceremony led by Star Trek actor George Takei. Unearthing a piece of much forgotten American history, the Rohwer Internment Museum remembers those Japanese-Americans who were held in camps around America against their will after the outbreak of the Second World War.

“The internment of innocent American citizens simply because of race, because we looked like the people who bombed Pearl Harbor, to imprison us was a shameful and disgusting act.” – George Takei

Blackbox-av are proud to be involved in this project in some small way through the supply of Solar Audio Posts and Audio Signs to interpretation designers 106 Group for use on the site where the camp once stood. The content on these devices is narrated by George Takei himself.

The dedication ceremony and opening of the museum was reported by various news sources, including local news station ‘abc 7 – KATV’.

The Arkansas heat has been a great test for our Audio Posts and other Audio Points, which we’re glad to say are holding up well and providing an invaluable insight through the use of commentary regarding this dark time in America’s past.
