U-Turn Round – Kasnäs Nature Trail
“We hope to inspire visitors to enjoy and pay attention to the nature around us. The U-turn is very popular amongst the children visiting the nature trail.”
– Lussi Järvinen
A small village in Finland’s southern archipelago, Kasnäs has a lovely 7-8km long nature trail, with five information points dotted along the way educating visitors on the wildlife and nature you will find in the area.

At one of these points you’ll find our U-Turn Round – the completely wind-up powered outdoor soundstore. Lussi Järvinen of Kasnas Bayalg rf tells us how they utilised the U-Turn Round for this particular nature trail;

The third information point along the nature trail is where you’ll learn about the sea birds in the area, and the U-Turn is set up to play the sounds of 8 different birds. We hope to inspire visitors to enjoy and pay attention the nature around us. The U-Turn is very popular amongst the children visiting the nature trail.

Visitors need only select a number via the dial then turn the handle in order to power the U-Turn Round and listen to the audio. The unique design of the U-Turn allows audio to be accessed outdoors on sites just like this nature trail – which would have previously been impossible due to the lack of accessible power.
