Introducing The Interpretation Shop!

At blackbox-av we wanted to make it easier for customers to buy our great products but we also felt we needed to be clearer about our offer.

Both problems are addressed with the launch of our new, online e-commerce website www.interpretationshop.co.uk and an updated www.blackboxav.co.uk website.

blackbox-av has now become our portfolio site, where you can view our bespoke work, installations and sited examples of our standard (shop) products.

Hopefully, our prospective and existing customers will now be in no doubt that we:

1. Manufacture and supply a range of innovative interpretive products available via The Interpretation Shop.
2. Produce bespoke products for clients, examples of which can be seen at blackbox-av.
3. Install innovative audio visual systems as seen at blackbox-av.

Kiosk prices in recent years have risen to (in our opinion) unacceptable levels. Having sourced a new range of excellent touch screens (see them here) we decided that we would bring the prices for our customers back down to what we consider reasonable – by making a range of our own. Right now, we have 2 available;

This PC based Free Standing Multi-Touch Kiosk provides the widest range of information delivery and multi-media interactivity possible, seamlessly and reliably, time and time again.

You can buy these Kiosks as stand alone units and use any compatible software of your choice, or you can purchase it along with our Lightbox 3 software which has been specifically designed to take full advantage of multi-touch screen technology.

Our well proven and established PIR (passive infrared) activated Message in a Speaker is down in price – by an amazing £100 to £295.

How can we reduce the price by 25%? Simple, the product has been very successful and we benefit from volume purchasing discounts. Those price reductions are being passed directly on to you, our customers. (Just keep buying to maintain the lower price..)

For a project between Wakehurst Place and RBG Kew we produced a bespoke U-Turn Kiosk. The design was driven by two main requirements, firstly the need for an environmentally friendly outdoor audio point that would blend in with the woodland surroundings, and secondly something that was able to be updated easily with changing seasons.

Created by Belgian designer Steffan Schoning these bespoke audio solar posts were designed for use in an audio trail along the Belgian coast. Each post has 5 buttons providing audio in 5 different languages. Powered solely by the sun they are ideal for such an application.

Pressing each button prompts an audio message, while pressing the same button again allows you to pause the message and resume when needed.
