Wooden Solar Audio Post – Port Talbot Rowan Tree
It’s been a pleasure working with Blackbox-av to supply a modern, relevant, accessible and durable accompaniment to the Rowan tree, which Port Talbot RBL Branch have planted to commemorate the 80 anniversary of VE Day. The Solar Audio Post supplied has allowed our branch to include young and old alike through the recordings on the Audio post commemorating VE 80.

Helping our veterans since 1921, the Royal British Legion provides life-long support for both serving and ex-personnel of the UK’s armed forces, with multiple branches across England and Wales.
For the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, Port Talbot RBL created a memorial that includes a newly planted Rowan Tree and one of Blackbox-av’s Solar Audio Posts. Presenting the stories of both old and young veterans for years to come. Barry Woodley, Branch Secretary for Port Talbot RBL, elaborates further;

The unveiling took place on Sat 10th May 2025 and was unveiled by the Lord Lieutenant of West Glamorgan and blessed by Father Ben of st Theodore’s church. Also in attendance were the High Sheriff of west Glamorgan, Mayor and Mayoress of NPT. Council leader and local politicians and ward councillors along with many branch members, friends and family.
