A brand new exhibition has opened at the Het Noordbrabants Museum in the Netherlands centred around the release of the film Loving Vincent. The film centres around troubled painter Vincent Van Gogh’s mysterious death in 1890 and has been completely painted by hand, making it the first painted animation film in the world.

With a star-studded cast featuring Jerome Flynn, Saoirse Ronan, Chris O’Dowd and John Sessions, the film has been a huge success since its debut. It took a total of four years to make and over 65,000 pictures were painted to create the final film. The exhibition in Het Noordbrabants Museum offers a glimpse into how the film was made and features some of the actual artwork.
