Audio Frames – I Am A Creator Exhibition
We wanted to include audio as part of our exhibition programme, so acquired audio frames for our larger library galleries. Currently we have one at Mansfield Central, West Bridgford and Worksop Libraries.

Inspire: Culture, Learning and Libraries is a charitable community benefit society delivering a range of cultural and learning services across Nottinghamshire. They are involved in heritage sites, libraries, arts and crafts, and education services for young people and adults. Lucianna Gallucci, Librarian NPO Librarian at Inspire, talks about how the Blackbox-av audio unit ‘Audio Frame’ was used in a recent Inspire project;

With the intention of updating audio content on the Audio Frames over time, a minimalist graphic was utilised with 6 activation buttons simply labelled 1 – 6 alongside volume +/-. The inclusion of two Hearing Loop Heavy Duty Handsets also means the unit is compatible with hearing aids which conforms with Inspires ethos of inclusivity.
Surrounding signage informs visitors of what content can be discovered on each button – this coupled with the ability to easily program the Audio Frames via an SD Card means the units can be easily repurposed for future projects as well.
