Evolution of the Tank Interactive – Inniskillings Museum

{

Functioning as somewhat of a centre piece in the exhibition, this interactive allows visitors to choose between two videos, the video is then displayed on both the touchscreen interface and a large projector.

As part of a larger Audio Visual installation and media creation project at the Inniskillings Museum we developed a number of bespoke interactives that allow visitors to select and play media via a touchscreen system, one of which then displays this media on a large projector screen remotely connected.

The interactive connected to the large projector includes two videos, one regarding the evolution of the tank, a weapons platform that would quickly change the face of warfare, whilst the other gives an account of the Battle of S’Hertogenbosch.

Inniskillings museum - Evolution of a tank touch the screen

Functioning as somewhat of a centre piece in the exhibition, this interactive allows visitors to choose between two videos, the video is then displayed on both the touchscreen interface and a large projector.

Although a relatively simple interface the most intricate element of this bespoke museum software was allowing the system to remotely communicate with the projector and mirror the display on both at varying resolutions. We were also commissioned to produce each of the informative videos, one of which can be viewed below – The Evolution Of The Tank

Video Production

Working closely with the client we conducted interviews and carried out research with which to develop a script for each video, we then recorded interviews with Major-General Henry Woods (MBE, MC, MA), the Ex-commanding Officer of the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards.

Utilising images provided by the client as well as some sourced/developed by us we produced engaging animated sequences to accompany the voice-over and segments of interview from the Major-General.

The end result is an interactive system that entices visitors to connect with the media created, whilst the production values of each video ensures visitors remain engaged and therefore absorb the information within.
