Message In A Speaker – Footloose

Following the successful use of our Message In A Speaker to promote the release of Transformers 3 in Odeon and Vue cinemas around the UK, advertising company Logan’s Run approached us on behalf of Paramount hoping to achieve something similar for the upcoming remake of 80’s classic ‘Footloose’. Practically working in exactly the same way as the previous project these units were to be set within the cinema entrance and play music from the movie as visitors walk by, the hope was that the new version of Kenny Loggins iconic theme song ‘Footloose’ performed by Blake Shelton will inspire people to check out the new film, reigniting that love for 80’s cheese.

The Message In A Speaker is our high quality all-in-one motion activated audio device. With a high quality JBL speaker and built-in PIR (Passive Infra-red) sensor it has been developed as a simple yet versatile solution for adding atmospheric audio to retail and heritage locations, with an ability to play on loop or more importantly only when activated via movement, it allows the creation of fun audio zones that react to footfall.

Audio is easily programmed onto an SD Card which you then slot into the MIAS, it then plays these files the next time it’s activated. This allows the quick change of audio content when required without needing to move the entire unit.

Due to the high quality speaker the MIAS requires mains power, for those applications where power is an issue or a more compact device is required we also offer the MIAS POS – Micro, a smaller unit that can run on in-built rechargeable batteries.

Numerous MIAS’ were set up at the entrance to cinemas around the UK, playing Footloose music as visitors entered. Even though the remake proved unable to capture people’s hearts like the original we take solace in the fact our MIAS’ got thousands of people dancing in cinemas around the UK in the lead up to the films release.
