Audio Frame – All Saints Church

“The [Blackbox-av] staff were very helpful and created the design to our artwork brief.  The whole process from the point of order to delivery was very quick… We are very pleased with the end result and visitors to the church are now able to use this to listen to the oral histories, helping us share and keep the local heritage alive.”

Jenny Glanfield – Community Engagement Officer for the Friends of All Saints Church

Located in the small village of Allhallows in Kent, All Saints Church is part of the Parish of “High Halstow with Allhallows & St. Mary Hoo”, a combination of three ancient parishes each dating back almost a 1000 years. For many years now the church has been at the heart of village life, providing a solid foundation within the community.

Jenny Glanfield, Community Engagement Officer for the Friends of All Saints Church explains the project below;

“All Saint’s Church is a listed building, which recently underwent major repair and renovation through our ‘Jewel in the Marshland’ National Lottery Heritage funded project.”

“As part of this project, we carried out an oral history project interviewing local residents. The interviews were then reviewed and edited and using the content from the interviews we were able to create 8 key themed clips. We needed a good way to display these and make them accessible to the visiting public, other than on our website. So, we researched the available audio options and contacted Blackbox to discuss the design and type we wanted.”

Our Audio Frame was the solution of choice, offering access to up to 99 tracks across 8 buttons with volume controls, the full colour front graphic can be customised to each clients need. Various options are available but for this project the 2 x heavy duty handset version was used along with a weighted stand for portability.

“The [Blackbox-av] staff were very helpful and created the design to our artwork brief.  The whole process from the point of order to delivery was very quick. The moveable design also means we can transport it to different locations in the church if required. We are very pleased with the end result and visitors to the church are now able to use this to listen to the oral histories, helping us share and keep the local heritage alive.”
