July Newsletter 2017 – What We’ve Been Up To

Jul 5, 2017 | News

Welcome to our July newsletter! Can you believe we’re halfway through the year already? How time flies! We’ve been working on lots of projects that we’re excited to share with you, as well as some events news. Let’s get stuck in!

AutoPlay Headphones – Belfast City Hall

Two of our AutoPlay Double Cup Headphones have made their way over to Belfast City Hall’s new visitor centre, showcasing the town’s diversity over 16 rooms.

When the headphones are picked up from their magnetic hangers content is activated, when placed back content is stopped and the attractor screen returned. Our headphones were chosen for their unique ability to activate content upon pickup and smart storage when not in use.

Smaller Projects

Dic Penderyn Traditional Signage – St Mary’s Church, Port Talbot

In St Mary’s Church, Port Talbot lies the grave of local legend Dic Penderyn. Hailed as the most famous Welshman of the 19th century, his unjust hanging in 1831 made him a matryr for change within the Merthyr Valleys.

The church contacted us to provide a free standing outdoor sign to be located by his graveyard, telling the story of what happened and his lasting legacy. Constructed from extremely hard wearing high pressure laminate the sign provides insight into his short life.

Single Cup Headphones – New Mexico History Museum

New Mexico History Museum in America has recently launched an exhibit, Voices of Counterculture in the Southwest. It documents the social and environmental revolution that spanned through the decades of the 60’s & 70’s.

Four of our Single Cup Headphones were supplied to this exhibit alongside button panels. The headsets are easily stored on their magnetic hangers, and the 90° swivel knuckle along with the armour cable keeps the inner cable protected ensuring the longevity of the headphones.

42″ Free Standing Kiosk & Software – Bugatti Trust

The Bugatti Trust is home to one of the most famous names in motoring history, and helps to preserve the works of Ettore Bugatti & his family. Last month, a new exhibition Chiron: The Man opened, which is dedicated to the racing career of Louis Chiron, who drove for Bugatti during the 1920’s.

Our 42″ Free-Standing Multi Touch Kiosk was the star of the show, running our software Lightbox 2,Homescreen, TouchQuiz & PageTurn, which visitors could use to interact with various historical documents. Thanks to the ease of use with our off-the-shelf software, the Trust can utilise the kiosk for a number of their future exhibits through easily updating their content.

‘Sleek’ Multi-Touch Table & Software – Spetchley Park

Having undergone a recent refurbishment, Spetchley Park & Gardens opened a brand new interpretation centre within the old cart sheds in the estate. It was built as part of the Spetchley Revival Project to help secure the garden and estate’s future through restoration work.

Our ‘Sleek’ Multi Touch Table with our off-the-shelf software Lightbox 2, TouchPuzzle & TouchQuiz were supplied. The table was populated with content revolving around the history or Spetchley and the gardens, making it a useful and educational tool that allows virtual access to their archive, which currently dates back to over 400 years.

Upcoming Shows

This month we’ll be attending The SWFed Conference: Partnerships in Practice in Exeter on the 5th July 2017. Our Marketing Assistant Holly will be giving a quick fire presentation about what we do and will be around to network with other guests. If you’d like to have a chat, seek out Holly at the show.
