blackbox-av was founded in 1994, we specialise in providing av solutions to the museum, heritage and attractions industries. Our original product ranges included retail audio listening points, video walls and public address systems. Virgin retail was one of our largest initial clients; we provided in store audio systems, video solutions and listening posts across 100 stores in only 12 weeks.

From this start we also began to expand our business into the museum, heritage and attractions sector. Within a year we had some prestigious clients, including the V&A, the British Library and the Tate Liverpool. Click here to see our current client list. More recently the summer of 2007 saw a prestige installation at the Natural History Museum – Ice Station Antarctica exhibition. Our research and development team designed innovative audio-visual solutions that met the client's challenging requirements. We supplied over 50 items of audio-visual equipment.

With our range of digital sound stores, audio tour guides and bespoke video products we are fast becoming one of the top UK suppliers. We have introduced truly innovative products, such as the U-Turn, a self-powered sound store, which has been installed at over 1,000 locations around the world.

We have developed into specialist suppliers of standard & bespoke av equipment and fully integrated multimedia installations for the museum, heritage and attractions industries. With additional services including include dynamic film, audio, web & animation production, creative consultancy and full installation.
